Leads Everywhere I Turn!

I never thought this would all happen so fast, ...leads, more than I can get back with...

Today I am literally posting for myself. I was making so many notes to myself this week trying to keep all these new websites straight when it acured to me, that's why I started a blog! ... to journal the networking process from scratch in real time.

I needed to log all the sites I have opened and which ones are truly gaining followers, friends, fans & members! I told you I would be writing detailed articles concerning how to utilize and market with the major giants in social networking and I am.

Now in order to give you a first hand accurate report, I knew I must do exactly what you would do if you were learning to market online from scratch. I will be giving you a numbers report tomorrow about which company sites are producing what amount and kind of leads; that is truly interested people, or just name harvesters who will probably take my email address and funnel it all over the internet. Also, which methods are semi-easy for the newbie to set up and gain numbers right from start. Most of my new site links are dotted all around this blog. Check them out to see which ones you think you'd like on your website or blog.

Well this last week I have been very busy, designing and posting brand new Bemicall named websites and profiles in all these areas:
  • Squidoo (3) Business - Using it to explain Bemicall
  • Squidoo (3) Personal, Motivational & Inspirational Videos
  • YouTube Channel really cool... alot of fun...
  • Delicious feed ...couldn't hurt...
  • AdlanPro Account for networking, great numbers building everyday
  • Veretekk Affiliate for marketing, even the free Silver program is good.
  • Facebook Profile, ..fun for ole friends and family, private
  • AHH, but also a Facebook Business Page... cool public
  • Registered this blog with Networked Blogs
  • Learned about Blog Talk Radio, ... really want a show there, in time.
  • Last.FM... enjoy using it in Facebook
  • Blip FM ... enjoy using it on Twitter
  • Tecnorati cool widget on this page I really like
  • Easy Video Producer ... great product I look foward to making my own video soon
  • Blog Catalog I could not get off this site I made new friends by joining group immediately
  • Feed Burner, unsure really more for me I think...
  • Feedly, it opens when I save a feed
  • Oh course upped my game in Twitter & added 1000 people in this first month
  • Tweetdeck
  • Twitter Power
  • Retweet
  • Tweet Later
  • Twitter Counter Stats, ... a real favorite
  • Twitter Tips
  • Digg, ...one of my favorite! Gained many people first day, please digg my site too. :)
  • and honestly Plaxo. An old method I used a few years ago and it's really paying off.
So after I tally up all the numbers to see which lead capture methods are truthfully, honestly capable of producing for me the kind of quality leads I'm looking for, ...the kind you need for your marketing program too, who are the winners? I'm not totally sure yet, except I know I have about 2,000 leads with contact information. Yea, I know... mercy. Stay tuned... that's my homework for tonight. After all it's about making friends, right? We all know the old rule; people do not want to do business with a stranger, they want to share a business with a friend.

So therefore, ... want to be my friend? :)

Comments are welcome. I really listen.

Guy Kawasaki Can Handle Being Called a Spammer

“Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of,” he said.

The former Apple marketer and current venture capitalist, book author and Web site operator was there to tell attendees how he uses Twitter and interconnected social-media tools like Twhirl and TweetDeck to generate buzz and monitor what others are saying about him.

An unabashed fanboy when it comes to the service, Mr. Kawasaki called it “the most powerful marketing tool that I’ve seen since probably television.” Toward the end of his talk, he added: “I love Twitter as much as I love Macintosh. And I love Macintosh.”

He also made enough provocative statements to guarantee that he’ll be retweeted — the Twitter equivalent of forwarding an e-mail — all day. One of the first was his advice that to be successful on the site, you need lots of followers. “I believe that Twitter is a numbers game,” he said.

That set off one of the first bursts of responses on Twitter. “Controversial?” asked Jeffrey Rohrs. “Twitter is a numbers game only for those who care about numbers. It is exactly what you make it,” wrote noahwesley.

But retweeting is also crucial, Mr. Kawasaki said. “Retweeting is the sincerest form of flattery,” he said. “When somebody retweets you, they really have made a conscious decision that they like what you’ve done.” He directed the crowd’s attention to Retweetist, which measures how often you’re echoed, and pointed out that he tops the list. “It’s kind of my scorecard,” he said, admitting that he checks it 5 to 10 times a day.

He noted that he employs people who help him find buzzworthy articles and post on his behalf, and shrugged that others might find that practice controversial. “Did you know that @GuyKawasaki has people he pays to tweet for him? I didn’t, but he just owned up to it,” wrotewrote Mike Pantoliano. Lisa Barone. “Not Cool,”

Even though he extolled the importance of followers, he then said that the number is becoming less and less meaningful, pointing out that CNN added 20,000 followers just yesterday.

That’s largely a function of Twitter’s “Suggested Users” box, which comes up after clicking “Find People.” “For the life of me, I cannot figure how you get into this box,” he said, highlighting Padmasree Warrior, Cisco’s CTO, on the list. “How is she one of the most important people to follow on Twitter,” he asked, moving on to Ryan Seacrest and Perez Hilton. “What is this world coming to?”

He admitted that some of his tactics, like encouraging followers to re-broadcast another site’s RSS feed, are ethically murky. “If I do it, it’s clever marketing. If it’s done to me, it’s spam,” he said.

His remarks sparked controversy on Twitter. One of the most-retweeted reactions is from Michael Gray, a search-engine-optimization consultant, who wrote “@matt_mcgowan or anybody else ask @guykawasaki if everyone used twitter the way he did would it be ruined.”

Mr. Kawasaki generally has a short response for online detractors, which he might repeat in this case: “UFM,” or “un-follow me.”

Twitter Unveils New Premium Accounts

By Brian Briggs -
San Francisco, CA – Twitter co-founder and CEO Evan Williams today announced part of the company's long-awaited business model: Twitter Premium accounts.

Twitter has experienced phenomenal growth since its inception, but up until now it has remained a mystery what it would do to generate income. Many have speculated that premium accounts would be one way, and now that has been confirmed.

Williams explained, "Celebrities and large corporations have begun flocking to Twitter for their social media needs, and growth has accelerated. Many users have expressed willingness to pay for accounts, and now we give them that opportunity."

Williams stressed that free accounts will still be available to all users, and that only those wanting more services would pay. Premium accounts will come in four tiers: Sparrow, Dove, Owl and Eagle.

The details of the accounts are as follows:

  • Sparrow ($5/month) – Users get 145 character limit, 5 extra random followers.
  • Dove ($15/month) – Users get 160 character limit, 25 extra random followers, 1 random celebrity follower, auto-spell check, "Fail Whale" T-shirt.
  • Owl ($50/month) – Users get 250 character limit, 100 extra random followers, 2 random celebrity followers, 30 minutes on recommended list, auto-spell check, "Fail Whale" hoodie.
  • Eagle ($250/month) – Users get 500 character limit, 1000 extra random followers, 3 celebrity followers of their choice, 5 hours on recommended list each month, Twitter Concierge for Tweeting while user is asleep or busy (and more), auto-spell check, "Fail Whale" tuxedo, custom "Fail Whale" page when service is down.
Users in any tier will be able to purchase an EmbellishTwit add-on for $100/year, which directs tweets to a well-educated offshore employee who will embellish tweets. For example, "Just had a whole wheat bagel and coffee for breakfast," becomes "Just got in from clubbing all night and Heidi Klum is spreading brie on a baguette just flown in on the Concord for my breakfast."

Rumors of a even higher level of service the secret "Black" account, which has J. K. Rowling, Stephen King and other famous authors write your tweets have not been confirmed.

Analysts peg Twitters value near the GDP of Canada.

Many of you may have noticed the title of this blog has changed. This decision has come after months of realizing the need to be more relevant if I want to truly be helpful to those of you who have followed me in the past. I enjoy all the fun videos and music clips, those will continue after all that is the beauty of a blog, you can make it what ever your personality dictates.

However, many business people I work with, who have been extremely successful in the recent past, marketing the old ways, (...the day of information!) are now completely lost in this new virtual fever fast paced world of social networking, (...the day of recommendation!) Today's Lesson: What is Micro-blogging?

This post is dedicated to my husband who is wondering right now 'What in this world is this twitter thing and why is my wife so consumed with it?'

OK, I suppose my dear you should first understand what a blog is.

Think in terms of a journal or diary. People who write blogs are openly sharing information concerning their life, their business, their hobbies or passions or just simply whatever they enjoy writing about.

Therefore my Blog post today will be to explain to you (and others like you who have not yet joined the online social networking clubs) the importance of this new and fast growing form of marketing and communication. Afterward, I hope you will better understand and want to join in.

NOW DEF: Micro-blogging is a form of multimedia blogging that allows users to send brief text updates (say, 140 characters or fewer) or micromedia such as photos or audio clips and publish them, either to be viewed by anyone or by a restricted group which can be chosen by the user. These messages can be submitted by a variety of means, including text messaging, instant messaging, email, digital audio or the web.

The content of a micro-blog differs from a traditional blog in that it is typically more topical, smaller in aggregate file size (e.g. text, audio or video) but is the same in that people utilize it for both business and individual reasons. Many micro-blogs provide this short commentary on a person-to-person level, or share news about a company's products and services.

I know it's easy to laugh at all the nonsense on Twitter.

The key question today isn't what's dumb on Twitter, but instead how a service with bite-size messages topping out at 140 characters can be smart, useful, maybe even necessary. Here's why I'm looking and here's why I now have multiple Twitter accounts. In the last few months, the traffic on Twitter has exploded, growing far beyond its circles of bleeding-edge tech enthusiasts and hard-core social networkers.

Businesses such as H&R Block and Zappos are now using Twitter to respond to customer queries. Market researchers look to it to scope out minute-by-minute trends. Media groups are focusing on Twitterers as first-to-the-scene reporters. (They were on top of the May 12 China earthquake within minutes.) Loads of new applications and services are growing around the Twitter platform, leading some to suggest that the microblogging service could become a powerhouse in social media.

Bit of History Concerning The Different Service Providers

In May 2007, 111 Twitter-like sites were counted internationally. However, the most notable service is Twitter, which was launched in July 2006 and won the Web Award in the blog category at the 2007 South by Southwest Conference in Austin, Texas.

The main competitors to Twitter have been Plurk and Jaiku.

Other leading social networking websites; Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, and Xing also have their own micro-blogging feature, better known as status updates.

With the growth of micro-blogging, many users want to maintain presence in more than one of these social networks. Services such as Socialthing and Profilactic will aggregate micro-blogs from multiple social networks into a single list. Services such as "Ping.fm" will send out your micro-blog to multiple social networks.

Is it all clear as mud now?

If you still need more information to to better understand the importance of Twitter in today's business world, I suggest you check out this 12 page slide show provided by Business Week at: http://images.businessweek.com/ss/08/05/0515_twitter/index_01.htm

I think we should open you a Twitter account and just let you "tweet" around till you get it. (NewAccount)

Now can you understand why your dinner may be a bit later on twitter nights?

Why I don't get out as much as I use to?

Why I get so excited when someone I believe is great, ... "Follows" me?

It's all good, they're not a stalker my dear. :)

Signed: ....Your loving wife
